Elimination Diets, Low Reactive Diet & Re challenge testing

This can be a difficult and time consuming way of determining what foods may be causing you intolerance/allergy. You will have to be very strict with your food intake to ensure you know EXACTLY what you have been eating.

For the first 14 days of the diet you must eliminate COMPLETELY the most common reactive food groups. This includes all dairy foods, gluten, yeasts, salicylates, food additives, colorings’, preservatives and MSG, shellfish eggs chocolate coffee alcohol and unfiltered tap water.

During the elimination phase, your symptoms may become worse in the first 4-8 days, but by the 12th day most of your symptoms should have gone. After the initial 14 day elimination, each of the possible sensitizing foods is reintroduced systematically and your reactions to this are noted. This is a method that should be thoroughly understood by the participant and supervised by your health practitioner.
